Chroniques d'une jeune sorcière (2025) might sound like simple, minimistic dungeon synth / neoclassical, but there's a layer of complexity to the flow of the compositions. Bosenn Werblus implements some interesting time signatures and unexpected rhythmic elements that give the music a sense of tension.
The obscure, desolate atmospheres are excellently crafted through the slowly developing, somber melodies. Some of the passages on the album even have a funeral dirge feel to them. As the album progresses, the ambience gets darker and darker, deeper and deeper.
The music on Chroniques d'une jeune sorcière is rich in texture and tone, and the slow pace adds a hypnotic effect. The album is excellent for immersing oneself into bleak medieval fantasy worlds, where the moon is the only light you'll see.
