On ”Nyx”, The Ritual Sphinx paints a 43-minute droning soundscape through FM virtual synthesis. The album is an intense experience, as it shifts through its vast palette of emotions and moods. There’s constant evolution to the compositions, something that is not always the case with droning ambient music. The atmosphere builds up through details and textures, the music ebbs and flows - and like that, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

On Sway, Dry Wedding (USA) combines southern gothic rock and post punk into a unique, beautifully coherent artistic statement. The music has a bleak and sombre sound, while still displaying tons of energy and raw power.

The music is impeccably executed - tonally there’s a lot going on, but it all works in tandem and contributes to the overall atmosphere. Sway flows like a dark sermon or a road trip through ghost towns and scorched landscapes.

This is a record that lingers like smoke, long after the final thunderous drum beats fade into silence.

Calignosia, a Spanish neoclassical dungeon synth project, presents a colorful palette of tracks on their full-length album "Alén da Fraga Neboenta", released in November of 2025.

At times contemplative dark ambient, at times epic medieval grandeur, the songs on "Alén da Fraga Neboenta" are varied in both tone and texture. The addition of acoustic instruments brings a neofolk tinge to the mix, elevating the mood among synthesized elements.

The album strikes a good balance between the calm, the grim, the folky and the epic. Recommended for enjoyers of dark dungeon adventures and atmospheric neoclassical splendor.
